SCHOOL OF BUSINESS AND LEADERSHIP
INTERIOR DESIGN PROGRAM
Sophomore-level studio focusing on commercial design. We examined place-making at both the interior/human and the neighborhood scale. The first project examined the adaptive re-use of Hollywood Theater as creative office space, in concert with developer Andrew Volna and his team. Hospitality was the focus of the second project, a Senegalese restaurant in a new mixed use urban development. Both projects benefitted from field trips and conversations with local movers and shakers.
for Interior Design I
A survey of techniques, media and software for representational and orthographic drawing. The semester culminated in the creation of an analytique that utilized all skills and created "graphic argumentation" for each student's assigned precedent, a famous stair.
for Interior Design II
Emphasis on 3D modeling as a design and documentation tool. Fluid spatial experiences using SketchUp animations; working drawings in Revit. Also, an examination of iteration and prototyping culminating in an exhibit of custom printed fabrics.
